For hardware manufacturers, the HD DVD format is supported by Toshiba, Microsoft, NEC, and Sanyo.
The Blu-ray format is supported by Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, Philips, Sharp, and LG Electronics.
For movies, HD DVD is supported by Universal, Warner Brothers, and Paramount. Blu-ray is supported by Columbia Tri-Star (Sony Pictures), MGM, Disney, 20th Century Fox, Warner Brothers, and Paramount.
