The new Sony PS3 is an elegant looking machine that has really focused on the technical capabilities. The PS3 was announced at the E3 international gaming convention in Los Angeles in May of 2006 and they hit retailer shelves late fall 2006. Technically speaking on paper the Sony PS3 looks very strong and is technically powerful. The 1080p visuals will knock you off your seat, assuming your watching it on a hi-definition television which is what the video game system developers want you to do. The PS3 comes with WiFi networking, free online head to head gaming, can play CDs, DVDs, PSOne/PS2 games, photos, music and videos. Sony took another step with its gaming console to invade your main movie watching space in your home by adding a built-in Blu-ray Disc player which is pretty amazing. A Blu-ray video player itself can cost as much as $600. This makes for a great deal for PS3 owners as the PS3 costs $600 and is a gaming system that can play Blu-ray movies. The PS3, also has a High-Definition Multi-media Interface (HDMI) output. HDMI is an industry-supported, cable that transmits digital signals from your device to your tv ensuring you have the best quality audio and video as possible.
