Megapixel Choices for Camcorders

Like with digital cameras, megapixels are a measure of resolution and quality.

Pay attention not only to the video megapixel information, but to how many it offers for still images, as well. You’ll occasionally want to shoot still shots with your video camera, rather than carrying around both a video camera and still camera, so you’ll want one that can produce decent images.

Unfortunately, video cameras don’t offer excellent still shot resolution. The best you can get is about 3 megapixels, which should be acceptable for smaller prints.
