Online Printing of Digital Photos

If you don't have a neighborhood photo printing shop or you don't want the hassle of running the errand, you can easily order your digital prints online and have them mailed to you.

(This is a good option for people who have a broadband Internet connection, such as cable or DSL, since uploading a few dozen pictures through a phone line connection would take quite a while.)

The default photo application that came with your camera or with your computer might include an option that makes this easy. For example, people using Macintosh computers can import photos with iPhoto, then highlight the ones they want made into prints and click the Order Prints icon from the bottom of the screen. From there, they get an order page showing the size and quantity options for each shot.

You can also upload your photos to an online photo printing site, such as: AOL Pictures, Kodak EasyShare Gallery, and Shutterfly. To get started with online ordering, you'll first need to create an account with that site, then look for a button to upload your pictures. You can save yourself a headache by browsing around your computer and understanding where your photos are stored before you start.

Online sites typically charge less per print than neighborhood shops, but tack on a shipping charge, so the final cost should be about the same.
