Many computer manufacturers are now releasing models tagged as "Vista ready." These PCs are guaranteed to meet or exceed Vista's minimum system requirements, so they can run Vista. You should definitely look for the "Vista ready" sticker if you're buying a new PC.

In addition, some new Windows XP PCs are coming with coupons that will enable buyers to upgrade to Vista for free or a discounted price. The Windows Vista Express Upgrade program, as it is called, is offered by Microsoft in conjunction with various PC manufacturers; the upgrade pricing differs from manufacturer to manufacturer.
