I forgot the password on my router. How can I reset it?

Most router manufacturers don't let you recover a lot password, but rather require you to reset the router to the default password as it came configured from the factory.

While this process differs from manufacturer to manufacturer (and from router to router), most routers can be reset by holding down the reset button for 30 seconds or so.

You can then connect your PC to the router via an Ethernet cable, and proceed through the initial setup and configuration process again.

Consult your router's installation manual or technical support for specific instructions.
