How can I access the Internet on the road?

Assuming that your notebook PC has built-in WiFi wireless networking (which it probably does), you should be able to connect to any WiFi hotspot simply by launching your web browser.
Another alternative is to subscribe to a mobile broadband service. This type of service is offered by most major cellular phone carriers, such as Sprint and Verizon, and requires the use of a special cellular broadband card.
You purchase the card and the service from your mobile phone carrier; the card inserts in your laptop, and receives the broadband signals from your phone carrier. Consult your cellular phone service for more details
